The Beginning of the Journey
|
I’m not here as a blogger or an expert, but simply as a mom who loves connecting people and walking alongside families. My hope is that when you come here, you feel supported, encouraged, and truly seen. I share what I’ve learned, open doors to new opportunities, and help parents build a homeschool life that feels peaceful, doable, and uniquely their own.
My journey into homeschooling wasn’t a single moment — it was a series of small nudges. I grew up in the public school system, so I wasn’t sure if I could teach my son everything he needed to thrive. It wasn’t until a friend, a seasoned teacher, said, “You’ve already been homeschooling. How do you think your son became so advanced?” that I paused and saw what was right in front of me. Another friend reminded me, “You can’t fail your child. You love him, you know him, and you’re considering this because you want something better for him.” |

That truth sank deep. By the next Monday, I had joined a local homeschool community — the very place where my roots began to grow.
As a single mom, I’ve poured my heart into creating meaningful experiences for my son, Mateo. When the activities I wanted weren’t being offered, I started organizing them myself. What began as one field trip or one class quickly became a growing network of families. And when I moved Mateo’s golf lessons to the morning in 2018, Coach Glen Beaver asked if other homeschoolers might be interested. I sent a message out… and within weeks, 11 kids were enrolled. Today, that little idea has grown into nearly 100 students, and countless friendships. |

Over the last eight years, I’ve connected with families through field trips, golf classes, co-ops, conversations in parking lots, and messages late at night from moms who just need reassurance. I’ve served in financial services, run a nonprofit, and worked in marketing — but nothing compares to helping homeschool parents find a community that fits them.
One of my greatest joys has been co-ops — watching parents step into roles they love and kids thrive under passionate guidance. I help co-run Braveheart Farm Co-op, where families learn together in a peaceful farm setting, moms volunteer to teach, and everyone supports each other. It’s simple. It’s beautiful. It’s connection at its purest. Sometimes these seasons last for years, sometimes only a few months — and both are perfectly okay. Homeschooling is a journey, not a system. |

Along the way, I’ve learned that when homeschool gets overwhelming — and it will at times — remembering why you’re doing it matters. Recently, a mom told me, “I feel like my kids aren’t getting the best of me… I don’t want to miss this time with them.” And I reminded her the same thing I remind myself: You get to make this your own. You get to enjoy them.
I don’t strive to be a blogger. I strive to be a helper. A connector - Someone who listens, learns, gathers information, and shares it so families can make confident decisions. Homeschool Palm Beach is simply the natural extension of that calling — a place where families can discover opportunities, feel welcomed, ask questions, gain clarity, and meet others who understand what this life is like. If you’re here, I’m truly glad you are. Whether you’re just exploring homeschool, already deep in the journey, or looking for community, I’m here to help however I can. Welcome to Homeschool Palm Beach — a place where you and your children are seen. |
