We have visited Bedner's pumpkin patch and of course the petting zoo a few times and we always have a blast. I just learned that they host educational field trips where they teach children about Florida's natural landscape and farming. They will also include the petting zoo.

Dream Believer Stables offers a fun Homeschool Group. Over the course of 4 weeks students will not only learn the fundamentals of riding but also Horsemanship. The Duncan Theatre is located at Palm Beach State College. The School Time at the Duncan performances represent the finest in music and theatre for young audiences. I just learned about the STAR Series at The Kravis Center today and the tickets go on sale next Saturday, August 24, 2019. Another Mom told me that it was a great experience for her boys. Personally, I enjoy watching stage performances and when they are connected to learning that is a bonus. So STAR stands for Students and Teacher Arts Resources. The program is funded by generous donors in the community who would like to make performance arts more accessible to children. There are a number of performances available for children for only $5.
I have passes to Lion Country Safari but I was curious about what the field trip experience would be like so I decided to inquire while I was visiting the new Safari Falls (water play area). A group (10 or more people) receive the admission rate of $9.50 per person if you schedule your visit between September and May. An educational experience can be added for additional $3.00 per person, however if the group is 30 or more that fee is waived.
The Palm Beach Opera provides a wonderful opportunity to catch a glimpse of the production process during a working dress rehearsal. While watching the main stage performance, participants will notice production crew (Director, Stage Manager, Designers) in the theater, working hard to fine tune the show before the opening night performance. I really enjoyed going to the Palm Beach Zoo because I could plan my visit around the various talks that were offered throughout the day about different animals and then I could close with the show. The River Center is a program offered by The Loxahatchee River District in Palm Beach County.. Their mission is to preserve the river while also educating people about habitats and conservation. They offer a number of homeschool workshops that provide hands-on experiences during the year. The workshops appear to be very popular so it is best to reserve your spot early. I learned about the Sandoway Discovery Center while searching online for things to do on my way back from Miami. Unfortunately, my schedule changed so I was unable to check out this nature center that is focused on marine life. Shark, alligator and stingray feedings are a popular experience there and they host educational field trips that homeschool families may enjoy. For more information click here.
The South Florida Science Center and Aquarium offers homeschool classes on a monthly basis during the school year. Students are grouped based on their age, early elementary, upper elementary and middle school. This allows them to provide topics, experiments and an overall experience that keeps the students engaged and challenged. Fees range from $15 - $20 per child which includes admission so families can stay longer and explore after the hour long class is completed.
I live in Wellington but I have not had the opportunity to check out the Wellington Conservation Center. I have heard that it is a great experience.
