Okeeheelee Nature Center - West Palm Beach, FL
The Okeeheelee Nature Center is located in Okeeheelee Park. We have visited and explored on our own but an organized homeschool field trip is the way to go. They have three options available that can be tailored to meet the needs of your group: On The Wing, Animal Homes and Habitats, and Raptor Chapter. The naturalists are extremely knowledgeable and it is clear that they love what they do.
After attending a few of their regularly scheduled Archery classes, I inquired about monthly homeschool classes but they only agreed to quarterly. It's a start!
The experiences generally last about 90 minutes. No food is permitted in the Nature Center, but groups can extend their homeschool outing by meeting up in the park afterwards.
